It uses a specifically calibrated series of intense pulsed light (IPL) precisely set at a specific energy and frequency, targeted at the skin around the eyes. The treatment stimulates the Meibomian glands in the eyes and helps them to recover their function. Meibomian gland dysfunction is a common cause of dry eye disease.
